The best way to write an action movie, for instance, is to make it about superheroes.
“I do feel like I’ve always been interested in superheroes, but it’s always been a very personal story,” says writer-director Scott Derrickson.
“It was more about the characters, more about their lives.
I wanted to write about something that was so relatable to people.”
For his first feature, he chose to write it with his dad, as a way to find his own inner superhero.
“There was no other writer in the world that could pull it off,” says Derricksons father, Michael, whose real name is Michael Jackson.
“He’s not a writer; he’s not an actor; he doesn’t know how to write.
But I knew what I wanted him to do.”
So he came up with a script, and it was like, “This is what I’ve been doing for years.”
Derricks, who has written more than 100 movies with his father, was able to work with Michael, and he even wrote the first draft of the script himself.
“My father has always been my inspiration,” says Michael.
“So, if he ever asks me to do something, I’m gonna say, ‘Yeah, that would be amazing.
That’s why I chose to do it with my father. “
So when I had this idea for the film, I wanted it to be something that had a lot of resonance with people’s lives.
I think it’s going to resonate with people that have been affected by those kind of things. “
That’s when we realized, ‘Wow, this is going to be a very special film.’
I think it’s going to resonate with people that have been affected by those kind of things.
They’re really relatable, and they’re just human.
They’ve been through those things, and I think they have that connection.”
So, for the final draft of “Penguins,” Michael wrote it with all of his family members in the room.
“The whole family, and the whole crew, was there, too,” he says.
“They had to come up with all this stuff that they would talk about.
But when you put them all in one room, it becomes a story that they can relate to, because they’ve all had these things.
I think that’s what really resonated with them.
I feel like the film resonates because it is such a family story.”
In the final cut of “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” Derricksen had the family members all in the same room, as they all sit down for a film review.
“We all know that there are things that you don’t want to see on a screen,” he explains.
“But we all knew that we had to be honest with ourselves.
It’s not the same thing if you have kids in the house and the kids are watching a movie with their parents, or they’re watching it with a friend.
I know that a lot is going on.
It might not be that we’re not aware of it, but we’re aware of all that.”
“I feel like it’s a movie that everybody can relate with,” says Robert Downey Jr., who plays Peter Parker, Spider-Man’s alter ego.
“Everybody has a story, and we all have a history.
And we all want to be able to share that history, and to share the history with the world.”
“Spider and I had an epiphany,” says Eddie Redmayne, who plays Tony Stark.
“When we started filming, we were talking about this idea that Spider-Woman was the mother of all superheroes, and that she had this power to heal people.
So, when we started to think about her, I realized, I don’t know if we’re really the only ones with this experience.
We have this whole community of people that share the same experience.
We’re just training ourselves to be the bad guys.” “
As the story goes on, you realize that you can have all these amazing experiences, and there’s a huge difference between what we’ve been trained for and what we’re trained for.
We’re just training ourselves to be the bad guys.”
And that was the beginning of the film’s overarching theme.
“A superhero is someone who is able to help the world,” says Mark Ruffalo, who portrays Peter Parker.
“And we’ve all seen that with Peter Parker in the comics.
He’s been a hero for many years.
But he’s also been a bad guy, a villain.
And now, he’s the good guy.”
“It is a good message,” says director Ryan Coogler, who helms “Captain America: Civil War.”
“What I think we’re seeing with Spider-man is that this character is a hero.
And the way he’s being portrayed, it’s an interesting way to put that on the screen.”
“There’s a reason why he’s so famous,” says
