A few weeks ago, Polygon released a list of the 25 best games in the history of video games, which included the aforementioned hit, The Last of Us.
Polygon was pleased to hear that a number of people in the industry had enjoyed the game, and we were looking forward to seeing more great games from the game industry come out this year.
But on Thursday, we received an email from a writer from Sony Santa Monica who felt that the Polygon list was not representative of the gaming industry as a whole, and that the writers inclusion on the list was based solely on a personal bias.
“It seems to me that most of the writers who are listed on the Polyogon list are just as biased against the gaming media and the gaming community as the average gamer, which means that a lot of their content is actually about the gaming and gaming culture,” wrote the writer, who requested to remain anonymous.
“I can’t see how Polygon is an unbiased source of information for the gaming press, or a reliable source for the mainstream press.
The writer continued: “It’s an insult to all of us who love games, and to all gamers who are still looking for a way to enjoy them.
We are so proud of the games that are still out there, and all of the great games that we love.
This is a very unfortunate situation, and one that has only gotten worse over the past few weeks.
We’re going to do our best to avoid making the same mistakes again, but the best we can do is to take the time to figure out how we can be more open, inclusive, and fair to all people in gaming.”
“At the end of the day, this is a mistake we made as an editorial team. “
We apologize to the community and the journalists for the mistake,” Carnahan said in an email.
“At the end of the day, this is a mistake we made as an editorial team.
We have made many mistakes in the past, and as a company we have made a lot as well, but we are committed to being transparent about these mistakes and trying to make sure they do not happen again.
We understand that some of our writers may be frustrated with the list of writers and our position, but they are in the right place at the right time, and they are making the right decision.
Polygon will be giving the writer an opportunity to clear up his or her mistake by issuing a retraction and apology.
