PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP has expressed anger at the cancellation of his speech at the RNC and blamed it on the President’s own staff.
The President tweeted: ‘I am furious.
I am frustrated.
I have lost faith in the system.
I’ve lost faith.
I will not allow my campaign to be dictated by the political establishment.’
The RNC, the party’s national governing body, said it was cancelling Trump’s speech at its convention because of his ‘disdain for democracy’.
The cancellation came after Trump’s team suggested on Friday that he would address the convention by video message.
Trump was due to address the RNC’s convention in Cleveland in July, but his campaign said it had decided to cancel the speech due to the ‘lack of enthusiasm and the lack of enthusiasm from the leadership of the RNC’.
The President also tweeted on Friday: ‘The DNC is doing the bidding of the Hillary Clinton campaign.
It is not going to be me.’
The DNC has to go back to its donors.
It has to do the bidding.
It’s not going away.’
